Super fast read-read in under 24hrs. The characters of Maura& Jane continue to develop, however storyline a little over the top but still enjoyable

I have to say, I'm really starting to like this author. Something about her writing style makes me want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next, even if I already know the "whodunnit" part. The characters are interesting and all of the scientific/medical jargon is done in a way that makes sense. It kind of reminds me of Kathy Reichs in that way.
The biggest failing of this book, in my opinion, was that I caught on pretty early on who the killer was. Maybe I've just read/experienced enough of this genre to catch on. The build-up was still really good, though, because there were still these pieces and I wanted to see how they would all fit together. I did like all the cut-aways to Africa, and I could tell the author had enormous respect for the land and its animals. It wasn't a huge surprise to see she had gone on safari herself; it really showed.
The family drama with Jane and Maura is fairly interesting to read, too. I haven't been with these characters from the beginning, but their struggles are still understandable and I want to root for them or shake sense into them, as the case may be. I'm also glad that Julian got a mention, though disappointed that a mention was all he got. I would love for him to have more of a presence in these books.
So yeah, another really entertaining book with some great characters and mystery. I'm looking forward to more!

I really enjoyed this. It was better than the previous two Gerritson's I read (Keeping the Dead and The Mephisto Club). It kept up the tension all the way through and I was guessing right until the end. The pacing was good and I enjoyed the dual plotlines and the Botswana setting was great.

Spravidla ide o pre mňa úplne neznámu oblasť, o ktorej viem nejaký ten základ, no ním to končí.

Again, Tess Gerritsen pulls me into a story that makes me want more. I love the Rizzoli and Isles series and this was another good book. I thought I knew the killer but was surprised at the end.
