There is a lot to process about this book. It's so good, so well-written, and so very necessary this day and age. I have quite a bit to think about before I could write the review that this book deserves. All I'm going to say for now is that everyone, not just young adults, should read this book. Seriously.

Must read.

Good! And i would count as a book that'll count as a classic

Good book and worth a read for anyone who hasn’t been keeping up with the news. Great narrator as well.

I absolutely see why this book is studied in schools. It's fantastic. I feel all fired up and emotional after finishing it. The themes are so easy to understand, and I love how many different aspects of Star's struggles with race were so easily explored here. The whole storyline with her friend Hailey was really important. It's heartbreaking but also such a good ending as well. I loved how even though we didn't get a wonderful happy ending or the justice needed, we got such a powerful sense of community and family. That was really special.

Ondanks het heftige thema heb ik echt veel moeten lachen tijdens het lezen van dit boek!!
