The is my other all time favorite book from Maya. The other one being STAY WITH ME.
SEDUCING SIMON has all of the heart wrenching emotions and love that I come to expect from Maya. She pulls you in with characters and a story that you can't help but love.

I'm not really a fan of these types of books but it was recommend as a bookclub selection. It was predictable but an okay read.
I’ve seen quite a few bad reviews for this book and I must say I absolutely loved it. I personally felt it was well written. I guess each to their own.
Honestly, I'm torn about this one. On one hand, the characters are interesting and they have real chemistry. I love the friendship between Toni, Matt, A.J. and Simon. I even love Mike, Toni's friend/fake love interest.
On the other hand, the main conflict in the book is based on everyone not talking to each other, or lying to each other, and then overreacting when they find out someone else is not being open and/or honest -- and that's totally a trope I hate.
However, the writing itself is good, even if the story line is fairly predictable. It's not a bad book, but it could have been better.

Toni has been in love with Simon since she met him, but as her brother's best friend and one of three other roommates she has been shelved to the "little sister" shelf. Another glaring problem was his girlfriend, but on the eave of his proposal he catches his girlfriend in bed with another man and comes home drunk, drinks some more and when Toni believes her dream has come true and they share an intimacy, she is elated until she calls him his girlfriend's name.
Two months later Toni is pregnant, Simon doesn't remember a thing and now she has to figure out what to do. In flashes it seems that Simon is interested but just as quickly he goes to brotherly mode. She attempts to seduce him but wants to make sure he falls for her rather than just because he is father to the baby, how can she confess her deepest secret when she doesn't understand his reasons for being with her?
I liked this a lot, Toni definitely struggles from one extreme to another. Simon is clueless and afraid to step over the invisible line he has drawn, but once he does he is all in. Great read.
Toni Langston lives with her brother, Matt and their two friends, Simon and A.J. She's a veterinarian's assistant and they are all firefighters. Toni's been secretly in love with Simon for years and they all see her as their kid sister, except on one night when Simon turned to her in a drunken stupor out of anguish over his breakup with his girlfriend. He never remembered the episode and she ends up pregnant.
This was a sweet story as Toni sets out to get Simon to see her as something other than a friend and have him develop feelings for her before he finds out he's the father of her child. She doesn't want him to just do the right thing but to have him share her feelings. Everyone in the household wants to help her with this child and all are puzzled as to who could be the father.
It's an enjoyable story with many funny moments. The dynamics of the friends really make the story and Toni's efforts to get Simon's attention on a different level were hilarious at times. However, what detracts from the book is the length of time it takes for Toni to be honest with Simon, as well as her brother and A. J. It didn't seem realistic and it puts Toni in a pretty harsh light.
It's a quick read and I liked the book and the characters. One thing to note...these characters appear again as a follow up in Pillow Talk, which is also included in the anthology, Four Play.
