(4.5) to be completely honest i'm not someone who really knew who emily was before reading this (i paused after the first couple pages and read her wiki page to update myself) but i love how this read like a diary and i felt her views and opinions shift as she shared her vulnerable stories & thought process as she grew through life

She’s a great writer and articulates her feelings and thoughts so clearly, I felt like I was right there in those moments. At times it was hard to read and internalize certain truths and mistakes that I related to. But it gave perspective into the pressures that women face and the imperfections of the language and expectations surrounding common understandings of feminism.
This was an interesting read and I learned more about emrata and her backstory than I knew before. I wanted to like this book, and while parts of it were horrible to read about, I generally just did not find this book to be relatable

bardzo ważna, wręcz must-read dla każdej kobiety, historia bardzo refleksyjna, szczera i naturalna w tym wszystkim, bałam się po nią sięgnąć, myślałam, że będzie płytka treściowo, bo przecież takich jest na pęczki, ale mega się pomyliłam. jestem pod wrażeniem jak lekko i szybko czytało się tę książkę pomimo tak poważnych i okropnych tematów i rzeczy, których doświadczyła, pięknie opowiedziane. kolejna książka roku:) love u emily
