This is a weird, enticing, somewhat disturbing, and beautiful book. Given to us as a gift, I'm not entirely sure why, I was utterly enchanted in reading it. It reminded me of that Postman picture book - no, not Postman Pat, the one where there are letters to read when you open the envelopes. Must be at least thirty years old. ANYWAY, the pictures are lovely if sometimes a little creepy; the story - replete with ellipses - inviting and tantalising.
And there are two more in the series!
This is not for children.

Really well designed the book is an art piece. It is the first one of a trilogy and I would advise the reader to follow the order they were published because the other way around is not going to work.
The story is intriguing and provocative, but I would say the art in letters and postcards is amazing.

A postcard arrives in the mail from a stranger in the South Pacific. This person appears to be linked to you somehow; a window into your mind. Thus begins, the extraordinary correspondence of Griffin and Sabine. [return][return]Griffin and Sabine is both an intriguing read and more importantly a work of art. The postcards and letters found within the pages are both beautiful and thought provoking. This novel also satisfies the inner-voyeur in all of us by allowing us to follow the relationship of Griffin and Sabine through their written words. This book is akin to reading someone else's mail inadvertently, you know it is wrong, but curiosity eventually wins out.

This was written in a fun format, but I didn't find it terribly interesting.

Beautifully conceived project about love and soul mates. But I can see why this became a series of books—the ending is really abrupt (although intriguing). I guess if this was all I got I’d give it a 5, but since I know there’s more I’ll settle for 4.5 stars.
How to describe this little episodic epistolary novel with art— mystery, love story? All of it. And it’s gorgeous.
I remember loving this book - more like interactive art - as a child. I hope my parents still have it, I'd love to re-read it soon.
