My very artsty friend Kelly M. loaned me her copy of this book. It was very fun to read something whimsical and tactile.

Oh how I enjoyed this unfolding tale! The story develops nicely and Bantock's artwork is amazing. The format was really enjoyable, like getting a little gift at every turn of the page. My only criticism is that the tale ended rather abruptly, with a sequel already written I presume. What happens next? I'm curious to find out. I wish I had bought the trilogy at once, as now I'll have to wait for the rest.

Art:  5 stars
Design/epistolary content, including physical letters tucked into envelopes:
more than 5 stars
Characters: vague but intriguing
Plot: focused on the relationship between Griffin and Sabine; moved from total strangers to more than that within a few pages. A few pages later, the book ends on cliffhanger.
Bottom line:  I’ll have to read at least one more book in this series, before I’ll know if I like it or not.

Not a traditionally written love story, but something about it still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

This was so fun! The letters, the postcards, the art!
Someone recommended this if you liked S. by JJ Abrams and I agree. Although this is much simpler.
