PSA. Don't read Penny Reid's books. Because you will become addicted. Once you've started, you won't be able to stop. She will worm her way into your heart with her clever writing and charming characters. She will become an automatic read author, and you will find yourself suffering through months of waiting for her next book. She ruins all other books for you. You will experience book hangovers that you feel you will never recover from. She will make you fall in love with every word she writes and YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. Just a warning.
That being said, I'm already addicted and I couldn't wait to leap into another story from Penny. I was younger then...so full of hope. It was all going so well. And then it ended.
So, I'll just be in the corner, going through the motions (abahahahaha*sob*ahaha), living but not alive, until we get the next one. Send help. Penny, you did this.

Man I adore smart romance. Mona Lisa s a genius. She’s had an unconventional life. College at 15. Alienation from her siblings. Parents whose open relationship is terribly confusing when she learns about it at age 8. Not being valued in her profession because she is young and female. I adored her odd sense of humor and her desire to protect her sister.
Abram. I mean he’s Marie’s brother and I love Marie. He’s smart and talented and funny. He has such a romantic heart and soul. That poetry. I mean damn.
They are in an untenable situation. She has a lot of info he doesn’t and she can’t tell him. He is not prepared for Mona because he thinks she’s Lisa. It’s a train wreck waiting to happen.
So good and now in to book two.

Every time I pick up a Penny Reid book, I know I'm in for a unique story with interesting characters and great banter. This book was everything I expected and more. The banter, the slow-burn romance, the twin swap, the cliffhanger.... Every bit of this book was fantastic! What a great start to this series and I can't wait to see where this story goes!

Part One of Three.
This was an enjoyable installment in the same world as Katlyn Parker and Martin Sandeke’s romance from the “Chemistry” series. Mona is a twin, the nerdy half of the duo, and the daughter of famous singers. When her twin, Lisa, is arrested, she asks Mona to pretend to be her for a week so her parents don’t find out she’s in jail. But during that week, Mona falls for Abram, the best friend of their older brother, who their parents have hired to watch out for “Lisa.” This was cute, with definite chemistry between the two leads. It was also a hard read in places simply because the deception goes on for so long, and you know there are going to be REALLY hurt feelings. Still, Penny Reid writes a compelling love story, and I always enjoy her books. This was no exception.

This book made me want to re read all of Penny’s books. It made me fall in love all over again-with Mona and Abram, with Marie, and even with Marty and Kaitlyn (at the time I disliked Abram in the Chemistry series because I was rooting for M and K, but now in the context I am glad he has K at that point). I cannot wait to read Space and Time, it is worth the cliffhanger!!!!!

If this book was a person, I would probably be tempted to make an emotional statement along the lines of “you are my person and please never leave me”. Spoiler alert: this book was not a person.
I really liked Motion as the start of what will most probably be a wonderful romance trilogy. Two people sharing living space for a few days without major distractions is the initial setup, followed by some eye rolling, witty comebacks (fully charged with physics jokes) and a few surprising moments demonstrating again that the essential is invisible to the eyes. It will forever have one of my favorites date-that-was-never-a-date scenes, meaning I might be willing to give it a few heart-eyes emoji as a strong beginning of a slow burn romance.
Why should you read it? Read it because life doesn’t come with a script and these character’s journey is unique, thoughtful and will connect with you even if you feel that your life might be different from theirs.
Now having a countdown for the next. And then the next.
**I voluntary read an early copy of this book.
