Didn’t love this book, but also didn’t hate it either. Mona’s jokes are sometimes more cringey than funny, but nothing too bad. Abram is sweet, but lacks depth overall as a character. Plot was mediocre with no true turning point. Some scenes were set up where it was building my anticipation, and then just fell flat with a disappointed “That’s it?”
I have a feeling it’ll get better within the next part of the trilogy, but this book just felt so average to me that I don’t have the motivation to pick up the rest of the story.

I tried to wait for the whole series to come out, but I'm a sucker. So I started the first book, and of course, could not put it down.
I really liked Abram from the Chemistry series, so I'm really glad he gets his own book. And this first installment with him and Mona is heartbreaking. You understand why Mona is slowly falling in love with him, and resists doing so for her sister. UGH.
I also liked how this series is connected to the Knitting series. Fun!
It ended way too abruptly and needed to know what happened next. I started Space but going to finish it when Time is released.

I keep reading NA and keep not liking NA so I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself, but I’m especially mad that it was juuuuust good enough that I bought the next in the series because of the cliffhanger. I have emoji faces about this.

Abram's book is here!
I was intrigued by him when first met him in Elements of Chemistry, especially when he dared go and poke the grumpy Martin Sandeke. Pretty excited when I heard Penny was going to write his book, and when it was revealed that he was Marie's (from Penny's Knitting in the City series) little brother. Talk about a crossover!
The beginning of the story was a little bit rough for me because I wasn't really sure what to feel about Mona. I was charmed by Kaitlyn (Elements of Chemistry) right away while it took me longer to warm up to Mona. She was a girl genius being roped into impersonating her identical twin sister Lisa for a week, and I didn't know how to feel about this until I got further into the story--when Mona had to pretend to be Lisa while staying with Abram, and found herself catching feelings for him, and him for her.
That just fueled my need for angst. Every time Mona thought about the hopelessness of her situation, my heart broke for her. By the end of MOTION, I could confidently say that I love Mona, her Physics jokes and her quirky sayings. I just want to protect her from all types of heartbreaks.
I feel like we haven't learned enough about Abram in MOTION, but what we did learn (a little bit of his backstory, his passion for music, how he feels a little too much), I like. Side note: there is a little discussion about romance books in this story because Abram is a romance reader (!!!). He defended the genre to skeptical Mona and even recommended her Lisa Kleypas. His favourite LKs were Devil in Winter and Love in the Afternoon! I love that man.
The cliffhanger was a brutal one, but Penny did warn us about it multiple times. Luckily we don't have to wait that long for the next book (which will also have a cliffhanger... *dies*)

ok you know how theres "lisa kleypas magic" well theres such a thing as "Penny Reid Magic" and its just as flipping potent and soul crushingly perfect.
Penny Reid writes books that make me both squeal internally and externally. The kind of books that I have to put down for a second because I can't believe how much a character made me gush; The kind of stories that I become catatonic over. She gives me with her stories a swell of the heart that only Lisa Kleypas has ever given me before.
guys this story omg.
I laughed out loud so much at how cute these two are. The one liners that Abram had oh geez. And there was this intense TENSION that gave me flurries all over. I'm so upset and I have a headache because things better be happy and gush in the next book I dont want to live in this angst What a cliffhanger my head in swirling with how its going to turn out. I'm so happy at myself for waiting for all the books to be out before I started the series.
Penny you rock, I love you

I was sooo not expecting a cliffhanger!!! I thought it was a standalone. Also I loved him but hated the sister and the friend for putting her in that position and taking advantage of Mona's goodness.

I didn't finish the third book because I'm bore of it. I liked her Knitting in the City and Winston Brothers series so I had high expectations in this but nah. It may be because when it comes to romance, I only like the process of them getting together. That's why I don't read romance that's in a series. Like the whole series is about the two of them, it gets tiring.
But Mona likes Moby Dick and that's the book I'm trying to read now. I only read the first page before I read the Law of Physics.
