Hmm, I've always said that Jane Eyre is without a doubt my #1 favorite book. After today, this is in close running for the spot. So much to think about. Sigh. I hope my review (to come later) will do this book justice.

now. this book. what a book. by reading it at the ripe age of 16 it taught me to use and abuse men cos honey they suck. i think sybylla is a feminist icon. she came up with the term no money, no honey. harry makes me mad because to me hes just a pick me who wants some arm candy. it kind of gives off wattpad vibes but like make it a classic. anyway i think it belongs on the shelves of any raging feminist. #KillAllMen #Girlboss #MakeHisPocketsHurt
interesting read, enjoyed the storyline however found some scenes were dragged on and difficult to get through.

'My Brilliant Career' is an old book which I didn't think I would much like. Getting into the book, I was pleasantly surprised by Miles Franklin's poetic and matter-of-fact way of writing.
When I started reading this book, I was really bored. Even being an Australian myself, I find stories about the bush and landscapes of Australia poetic but uninteresting. That theme runs through the whole book but I got over it.
I believe this was quite a sad tale for Sybylla, the main character, as she doesn't accept herself for who she is and denies the love that one Harold Beecham has for her. I didn't like how she put herself down in her interests, her intelligence and her looks. Alas, I still enjoyed this story (it did take me a long time to read though) as it is unique and different to other books coming from this era.

I watched the movie that was based on this story so many times and now I finally read the book. I enjoyed it much more and it turned out to be a quick read.
meh. Sybylla is an annoying character but i get it. some parts are draggy and unnecessary but it's a book i read for school haha.

Personally, Sybylla is my inspiration in life. She taught me so much about the world. If you don't want to do something, just complain about it so much that you make yourself sick, thus forcing your rich white family to take you back. Problem solved. Also, gaslight all men. Especially the hot, rich ones. Poor Harry.
