I loved this so much! The art is so pretty and sparkly, and I really liked the concept of having a sorcerer family living in the middle of everyday Japan~

Ran is such a fun and adventurous kid, and her care-free nature shines through even when she's transformed. It makes things a littleee weird when men are hitting on her left right and centre whenever she transforms into her 'older self' (a high-schooler?), because deep down she's still a kid! But i'm hoping that the following volumes won't include her getting together with the supposed "male lead" - ahem because he's an ADULT-

But otherwise i'm really loving this manga already, and i'm so glad i picked it up on a whim! ✨ The concept of a child using a magic item to get older reminds me of Creamy Mami a lot~

Fun, romping plot. Lots of energy! But weird, and maybe a lil uncomfortable at times.

I love the story- the artwork, the concept, all of it. The author and artist make this manga stunning to read and behold. Oh and how the magic is Truly chaotic in a sense that it just happens. It has a whim and sense of its own that has me thinking of Howls moving castle in both book form and Movie format. The author doesn’t try and explain the magic either which is actually refreshing in this because most of the time the magic is either explained away or broken down. I love this and I’m charmed. Absolutely charmed.

It's such a pretty series with any interesting premise! I couldn't remember why I stopped reading it, and then I see a grown man flirting and requesting a sexual relationship with an 8/9-year-old who is just currently in a teenager's/young woman's body, and I'm just like, "Oh, right." It'd be 5☆ if they didn't sexualize a shape-shifting 4th grader. Ugh...

2.5☆ because the premise is cool and maybe there's a chance that they don't follow through on that romance. A chance that they made it a teaching moment instead, but I have my doubts...

I went into this pretty much blind and I think I wouldn't have read it otherwise. I expected this to maybe be a whimsical urban fantasy story about growing up starring a young witch. This is true to some extent? The difference is that the main character, Ran, is actually a 10-year-old child using magical sneakers to turn into an adult woman? The catch is that, even if doing so enhances her magical capabilities, she still has the mind and impulsiveness of a child.

The setting is fairy tale-like and whimsical, and with one exception, all the characters are endearing or intriguing - and wow, this is one of the prettiest mangas I've seen in a while. The character expressions? The panel flow? Absolutely stunning.

My problem with this work is that I don't like how sexualized the adult version of the main character is at times. This, especially in combination with one side character, Otaro, who is a rich playboy and into the mature version of Ran (who is secretly as we all remember, of course, just a 10 year old) seemed...child groom-y.

I'm sus continuing the series. Depending on how the author deals with those two will determine if I DNF the manga. I've read in reviews that Otaro's behavior isn't condoned and it is portrayed as unsettling, so I'm at least hopeful at the moment.

Edit:

I skipped to the later part of the story to have a look at how some plot lines develop.

Spoiler Regarding the rich playboy Otaru plot line, the lesson for Ran shouldn't have been You can't save everyone. It should have been Let's get rid of sexual predators.

This series is a definite DNF for me.
