This was fun. I think I liked it a little less than the first one just because I felt the stakes when presented at the beginning weren’t as good, and ultimately the characters didn’t accomplish much. However, the characters were even more fleshed out this time around, and Alex was a real gem and held most of the best lines.

2019 Reread:

This gets started almost as fast as the first novel, and I like that the characters were fleshed out even more, and the introduction of Alex did wonders for the story, but the story wasn’t as engaging as the first, and ultimately I didn’t feel like anything was accomplished.
