I’m so soft for Hearthstone.
Once again, Mr. Rick Riordan, pulls up with the best representation in the game. Alex is the absolute best and I can’t wait to learn more about her/his background story! As usual, well written, fun, really cool world building, etc, etc. I can expect nothing less from Uncle Rick.
One of my absolute favourite parts of the story (and this is the most minor of spoilers, not actually relevant to the plot), is Magnus staring at Alex because he’s so very attracted to and confused by Alex and Alex getting angry at him for staring bc Alex thinks Magnus is staring because he’s like minorly transphobic or smtg. Iconic. Two dysfunctional legends.

A great story and I appreciate the diversity and the inclusion of the gender fluid character
I struggled to get through the first book and was hoping this one would be better. I like the old and newly introduced characters but the writing was just too much for me. It felt like he had a page count to get to and need to say everything with as many words as possible.
