It took me a while to finish this because of life things but once I was able to devote the time needed, i was able to read through it at an appropriate pace. It never felt like it got a little dry. I like how Riordan mixes in a bit of humor in the tense situations. I look forward to reading the whole series again when the next book comes out!
(A-) 91% | AGES 14+ | This took way longer to finish than it should have, tbh. I did find myself wanting to finish another book before this one due to the fact that this book just felt long. I know what you’re thinking. “If it’s too long, then it’s not for you.” “Riordan writing is perfect” & “You’re just lazy and can’t finish a book.” So listen up. I’ve read books longer than this. I can finish a book. And yes, Riordan’s writing is perfect. The reason why it feels long is because it feels so connected to the book before it (the first one, dur) that it feels like one continuous book. What’s wrong with that? Nothing, it just felt like a super long movie I came back to finish and ending up needed a sequel too. I’m not going to burn out on Riordan Writing. I can’t. It never gets old. But this is how I felt throughout the whole book. The story felt very similar to Kane Chronicles and it felt...a bit repeated? *winces* I thought “It just keeps going
