A series can go one of two ways: it can develop characters and a continuous plot over the course of multiple story arcs, or it can follow a similar plot over and over. The Princess Diaries has become more of the second type as it has gone on, and at this point, the plot and characters are tiresome. Especially after reading an Austen novel, in which the characters are repeatedly foiled because they are not allowed by social norms to speak to each other with any substance, it is SO annoying that once again Mia has this raging horrible problem with boyfriend that she agonized over but cannot talk to him about even though she's been dating him for a year and a half. I did enjoy getting to know the Guy Who Picks Corn Out of Chili.

This was ok. Wasn’t as invested into it. The musical idea was funny though. The party Mia plot I didn’t care for.

3.5 stars!
This one was funny, as always :) But not my favorite in the series.

alright I’m DEF gonna need to take a break before finishing the rest of the series. There is only so much self reflection about my tween self, and it’s influence on my current adult self, that I can handle at any given time.

The way Mia tends to over-analyse every little reaction based on a sentence her friends have said to her, can be a little irksome now.

Grandmère and Lily aren’t really nice people. Not nice to Mia anyway. I don’t know how they’re friends. And why does poor Mia have to be the main star for everything?? She didn’t want to be in the play at all!
