Gaiman collects and reinterpretates his favourite Norse mythology stories. These characters are a joy to read. Thor is proud and stupid, Loki is cunning and vain and the adventures they go on are wildly imaginative. A really good read.

I have to say as someone, who looooves myths, fantasizing about different and hidden worlds and mythology and especially the Norse mythology I had so much fun reading this book. I really liked the writing style and story-writing instead of a lyrical writing.
The only thing, and it's really a tiny thing, I had problems with was the short story structure. It just sometimes made it hard for me to stay at-the-edge-of-my-seat and I missed that can-put-it-down feeling.
But all in all I really recommend this book to anyone who loves mythology or has always wanted an introduction to the norse mythology.
Rating: 4.5/5

Love Neil Gaiman, and this book is a great listen to at bed time. Will be keeping this one at the ready for any time I need a bed time story.

Now I am convinced. I do not like Gaiman's writing. This book wasn't special. The stories were boring at best. I don't remember any of them. Just wasted my time in order to understand why people think so highly of Neil Gaiman. His writing is not for me.

Norse Mythology contains author Neil Gaiman’s interpretations of (surprise, surprise) Norse mythology, largely focusing on the gods Odin, Loki and Thor. Although the bookshop I bought my copy from shelved it in the fiction section, this is not, strictly speaking, a work of fiction and is better shelved amongst other books of myths and legends. The retellings aren’t hugely unique and the writing style tends towards simplistic, but they are enjoyable and there is plenty of humour to be found in them. 3.5 stars.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love Neil Gaiman's voice! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the stories, as well.

En un principio lo iba a dejar en 3 estrellas, pero el final ha mejorado bastante el libro en su conjunto.
