Finally locked in and finished this story. It’s no wonder people often mention this as the essential Superman story. Each chapter encapsulates a different aspect of what makes the character who he is, the definition of a true super hero. While some of the early and middle chapters can feel a bit wacky and unserious, the way the ending actually comes back and ties them in to the overall story redeemed those moments for me. Seeing Clark’s character trying to do everything that he can despite knowing that his time is running out was probably my favorite aspect of the comic run, and his relationship to Earth and being human despite being an alien are just great. So much iconic imagery within these panels as well. If you’re wanting to read something about Superman, this is definitely a great read so long as you know a good basic chunk of Superman lore and his cast of characters. 4/5 stars.

All Star Superman was good, but not great. I truly loved that in every chapter you could see Superman just trying to make these world a better place before he ultimately dies. I wouldn't say it's aged well but I think it is still able to be held up by some of the writing. The bizzaros was probably my favorite thing about this book, the least would be the writing between Lois and Clark, I just couldn't find any chemistry between their characters which is important to me personally. Not a bad read!

All-Star Superman is kind of what I expected the Superman comics to be - dramatic, funny, sometimes far-fetched, but ultimately showing the kindness that comes with Clark's character. I have to say that there were moments that made me strangely emotional with how much hope they expressed. It's really something that I sought when I picked up this book and I'm glad I got to see it.
