Stilwell, a former diver turned LA County sheriff's detective, has been exiled to Catalina Island after a run in with a colleague. Now there's trouble on the normally sleepy island, and Stil has to decide whether to risk his newfound happiness to investigate a murder that isn't his to solve. Like Connelly's Bosch novels, Nightshade is meticulously detailed and grounded in a sense of place, with a lead character who doesn't suffer fools gladly.

It was OK, very formulaic and there wasn't much to it, but it kept me turning the pages.

Incredibly boring. I rarely return audible credits but this one was returned.

Truthfully the rating might be more about the reader than the story. I usually find Connelly’s books more satisfying.
