Solid story. Nice to revisit these characters after all this time.

My relief at finishing this series is palpable and my reviews are feeling quite repetitive. This book is more focused on giving Aurora a happy ever after. The mystery isn’t as well crafted, but by this point, the mystery isn’t what’s keeping the series going. I’m so glad to be moving onto other works by Charlaine Harris. I hope she keeps her series shorter, this one needed to end around book four.

You know how you start a series, and you really like it, then it starts to go downhill? Well, I read the first book in this series ages ago, and just didn't love it (which was shocking because Charlaine Harris is one of my favorites). Then I read All the Little Liars, and it was good. So I jumped on the waiting list for Sleep Like a Baby, and it was even better!
Roe is a new mother, already exhausted, when she gets the flu right when Robin has to go out of town. They decide to have the mother's helper who helped her when Sophie was born come back for a few nights. However, Roe wakes up to find the baby crying, Virginia missing, and the dead body of Robin's stalker in the back yard.
The mystery was quick and engaging. Roe didn't try to outdo the police and seemed very human. A delightful book! I will be going back to read the rest of the series.

Took a few hours to read. I hadn't expected any more Aurora Teagarden books so it was a pleasant surprise to spend a few hours with her. She doesn't really solve the mysteries in this story so much as exist until the answers present themselves to her, but she IS taking care of an infant the whole time.

It feels like a million years since I've done an Aurora book. I enjoyed the mystery and I'm really liking her brother being more seen as a character.

Eh, this book wasn't bad and I enjoyed catching up with Roe (although it's hilarious how much technology and pop culture have advanced in such a small piece of her lifespan), but the mystery just didn't do it for me. I had a vague feeling of where it was going and didn't feel too much suspense even when a stranger is sneaking into the house with the infant and babysitters are missing and stalkers are on the loose. A fine read, just not my favorite of the series. I'll keep reading them though if there are more to come because I do like Roe.
The fine print: received ARC from NetGalley.
Spoiler
Especially because Roe has officially quit librarianship in lieu of housewifery. Boo.The fine print: received ARC from NetGalley.

Quick read but very boring. I am not interested in every detail about this character's baby. I don't want to hear about it in my every day life and have no desire to read about it. The mystery was too drawn out and the ending fell flat. Meh.
