Three words are all that is needed to describe this book .. freaky .. creepy .. aliens.
I could not put this book down once I started it .. seriously loved it.

A great science fiction horror story. Parts of the book will leave you feeling nauseous from what the characters are experiencing.
This book is gripping. Perry's slow descent is masterful. Although I'm still scarred for life thanks to the chicken scissors part. Sigler's attention to detail and use of scientific facts to make everything more plausible.
OH MY GOD! This book was fantastic! It was an easy read, not elementary by the least but it flowed easily together, the ups, the downs, they pulled you along and would not let go. You will be hard pressed to put this book down. I guarantee it. The two protagonists although they differ in drive, background, and method, they will surprise you in the end, this book is only a teaser to me. Although it neatly ties up the story and could be left where it is if you are like me you will want to know more and must read the second book.
This guy deserves to be as famous as Steven King.
I just love his stories, and enjoyed them when he used to read them out as free podcasts. Great to see him getting “real” publishing deals now.
The aliens in this book are just plain fantastic. An invasion story like you’ve never known before.

I've read some pretty gruesome books, but this one made my stomach hurt! Scott Sigler is an amazing visual writer. It took me a little hit to finally get into it, but once I did I was hooked. I will definitely read the sequel, but I'll let my stomach settle first!
I waffled over how to rate this book. On the one hand, I found it to be tedious and disgustingly graphic (two stars), but on the other hand, I can't deny that the story hums along once you pass the halfway mark. Throw in some brutal misogyny and some cliched characters, and I was ready to keep it at two stars, but in the end, I rounded it up to three. It's a decent story with good pacing (eventually).
For the right reader with the right tastes, I think this would be a good book; for me, though, it's just kinda MEH.

A-Z Horror: I
*Yeah, I took some liberties here, but there IS enough scientific and medical detail here that I can justify this classification.

Interesting and a relatively quick read - but also rather bloody. Make sure not to read the book while eating lunch!
