This book was creepily fascinating, in a heebie jeebie kinda way! I really quite enjoyed it.

There were some Ewww, gross parts, some LOL parts (okay, maybe I am the only one that would laugh at those things, I'm not sure), and of course the fascinating, what is going on parts? I am interested to know what happens in book 2.

It's on the GR medical thriller list so I am using it for the PopSugar prompt for medical thriller.

This was the first book by Scott Sigler I had read, and other than following him on Twitter, I hadn't heard any of his podcasts either.

His story was so well thought out and creative that I became an instant fan.

Almost like the Strain Trilogy without the good storytelling. Good way to pass a few hours.

Great book.lots of action and suspence.tottaly recomend it

I was promised gore, violence, and an un-put-downable horror/thrill ride and it was just unfortunately boring. There wasn't enough gore and violence to be the type of book where you just turn off your brain and go for a ride. The twist did seem interesting but not enough for me to continue on with the series because of all the other shortcomings.

This was a super quick read and pretty fun, though pretty gory. This is the first book I've read by Sigler (which is bad on me because I've been following him on Facebook and through his website and podcast since before he got his first publishing deal), but he really reminds me of a rock star Brian Lumley. Or more specifically a heavy metal Brian Lumley. Enjoyable, surprisingly informative, though fairly hokey and predictable. Though if you like any of the horror genre read, or even better yet listen to his podcast.

An incredibly good horror story, it builds up mistery, horror and gore very nicely. However, the end was bad sci-fi badly attached to the rest of the tale, diminishing all the good setting and build.

Well, this was absolutely and amazingly disgusting. I picked up this book on a whim and I don’t think I was prepared AT ALL for what was in store for me. A mysterious parasitic outbreak is causing the people of Michigan and Ohio to become mindless, violent murderers. Perry Dawsey, a formidable and short-tempered former linebacker, is one of those unfortunate souls to be infected and we follow his struggle to remove the threat before he loses all self-control.

I was in the market for a story that would take me out of my comfort zone and I certainly found it with Infected. The pages are filled with wince-inducing, brutal, gratuitous violence, harrowing self-inflicted harm, and lots and lots of blood and gore. Aaaand I just couldn’t look away. Part horror, part thriller, part sci-fi, this was actually a really enjoyable read, with a really in-depth concept that finely unravels just a bit at the end of each chapter. I’m really looking forward to diving into book two.

Warning: If you decide to read this, be prepared for phantom itches and possible bouts of paranoia.

Book started out fantastic and continued to be fantastic up until the last quarter. The end felt extremely rushed and really made a superb gore/horror book into something less. I am just now realizing that the virologists that we spent a good few chapters with just completely disappeared from the story in the last half of the book. There really is only one character in the entire book and everyone else just seems like some "Average Joe" extremely forgettable person. Still going to read the next one though.
