I am not sure what I just read…
I suppose these poems make sense in the original language- but the translation makes them seem random and hilarious at times.
I think the meaning of this poem is to describe the different feelings one get throughout the year - and I did feel that at times. Some of the parts were quite romantic. But the romance was quickly disturbed by the very out-of-context bits.
My favourites:

Winter downpour-
Even the monkey
Needs a raincoat

Summer wraps -
Is there no end
To lice?

Year by year,
The monkey’s mask
Reveals the monkey

Truly poetic <3

I didn't know that I needed Haikus up until now. Bashō is my sensei!

Wake, butterfly -
it's late, we've miles
to go together.

Violets -
how precious on
on a mountain path.
