1.5/5 - Almost DNFed, couldn’t relate to the characters, which made it a difficult read. Story was dull and the plot twist felt rushed and cringey.
Another fantastic book by Daniel Hurst, The Couples Revenge kept me wanting to keep reading, the twist I did not see coming at all!!

I have loved pretty much every book I have read by this author. I really wanted to love the one but really didn’t. It was intriguing and unique but i just didn’t connect with the characters like i wanted to. I also found the story to be sort of boring in some parts. It wasn’t for me but still will be picking up more from this author in the future.
This book was chosen unanimously by our book club to read for this month. Honestly, I’m not impressed. The synopsis on the back of the book sounded exciting, but is misleading, and I really don’t think the title accurately reflects the story either. This should not be compared to Gone Girl at all!
I disliked all the characters. They all felt flat. Sara is too anxious and annoying, and Guy is too reactive and impulsive. Their marriage is on shaky ground simply because their sex life is boring and infrequent. Seriously? To all of a sudden have Amber be the killer out of nowhere with barely any character development was a weak ending. The police work was unrealistic, too.
Overall, this was boring.

An easy murder mystery - I did see the twist coming as it was all too convenient. A decent holiday read, with a bit of a kick re bullying
