I started out really liking this book. I liked the tension between the characters, liked them developing feelings for each other and I liked the forbidden aspect of their relationship.
But then it unfortunately got a bit too dramatic in my opinion - so many past and present SA or accusations thereof and the final showdown was just a bit over the top.
I still enjoyed it for the most part.

Narration wasn’t the best ever sometimes writing felt very plain. Still an ok read overall

I don't love a single POV, but I tried not to let that stop me from reading this.
I think the story really could have benefited from having Max's point of view, it could have added more tension between him and the team and the coaches.
At one point I really hated Rory. She was coming across as a pushover who refused to fight for herself again and again.
Ultimately this was pretty predictable but I enjoyed it. I'm still divided on whether I'll continue the series or not...

I don't think I would have read this book if I had known that rape would be so central to the plots of so many different characters
They started willfully not understanding each other and refusing to communicate like adults, in the modern era!, which I can’t abide. Talk to your partner!
