I wanted to read Code Black as soon as I saw the cover and it was even better than I thought it would be! It was so exciting, entertaining, and the storyline was unique and really interesting. It was fantastic and I just loved it!

Sera is an awesome heroine - she's curious, smart, and determined to get to the bottom of the mystery she's facing. She has her sassy moments and a few moments that made me want to shake her, but she really has a great heart. Sera is wonderful and I enjoyed being in her head!

Well, just like I wanted to shake Sera, there were definitely a couple of times where I wanted to shake Talon too. But while he has his frustrating moments, the rest of the time I couldn't help but love him! Talon wants to deny how much Sera is starting to mean to him, but he still can't help but be affected by her, feel protective of her, and think of her as his. And when he finally accepted his feelings, he became even more sweet and protective and I loooooved it!

Code Black is full of action, passion, mystery, and suspense. It made my heart ache, captured my attention, sucked me in, and made me excited to see what would come next. I can already tell that I'm going to be addicted to this series and I can't wait to read the Red Alert!

Code Black is a standalone told from multiple points of view and although Sera and Talon get their happy-ever-after, the ending will leave you eager to read the next book!

I received this book as an ARC for my honest review of this book.

Recently I have been obsessed with reading shifter books and I fell in love with this book.
It starts with murders that have been committed by someone within the supernatural community. Our main female character Sera Benenati is a reporter who is trying to make a name for herself as a serious reporter and naturally, that means she starts looking into these murders. By looking into these murders she comes into contact with very special agent Talon Red, our main male character.

It comes out that these murders are come full circle and seem to be connected to Sera which means Talon and his team have to do their best to keep her safe while solving the murders. I loved that this book shows us a strong female character who doesn't need to rely on anyone to keep her safe. The world that has been created is very interesting and I cant wait to see what else happens as the rest of these stories unravel.

I love how it starts off introducing the characters and letting us get to know them. The tension of the book will keep you on the edge of your seat and try to guess what will happen next. The romance between the two main characters will leave you breathless. I can't wait for the second book to come out to see where their story goes from here.

I really dislike when I don't love a book. I hate having to write about what made it bad for me and I hate trying to decide what star rating to give it in the end.

I had a really hard time getting into CODE BLACK. The first thing that pops into my mind on how to explain it to you is this. You know when you are watching a sub-par movie and the actors sound like they are reading a script instead of actually living what they are saying? That is exactly how CODE BLACK read to me. It made it very hard to enjoy the events that were happening and I couldn't really connect with the characters because it all felt fake. It got a little better as the book went on, but I still couldn't connect with the characters and let's face it, if you don't care about the characters, you are going to struggle with the story.

Because I just wasn't into it, I drifted a lot while reading CODE BLACK. I don't know if its because of this, but I had a hard time following all the characters and mythology involved in the story. There seemed like there were way more questions than answers and I found myself confused at times. I am pretty positive that I won't be continuing with this series.

Thank you to Storyorigin and publishers for this ecopy of Code Black.

This paranormal story had it all! It squished every supernatural creature into the story and it blended so well. It started off a little gruesome and straight into the murders committed by someone or something.
This leads to Sera Benenati - our gossip magazine reporter, investigating which in turn brings her into contact with Special Agent Talon Red who becomes her protector.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read, the world building was atmospheric, the creatures described perfectly and somewhat chilling. The characters were all fantastic the mystery throughout kept me gripped and the romance that follows keeps the story running - who doesn't love a few murders and romance?!

Sera is a reporter/unknow paranormal. Talon Rede is team leader for the PCD, he a shifter. They path cross because a case and buy god is there alot of suspense, romance, action in this book. I love thta it not just sera and Talon that it follows but it kinda follows Jame Bradshaw a shifter and Talon second in command as well Drake who is a vampire that consults on cases.. I was left wanting more and i cant wait for book 2 to come out

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I picked this up thinking it was different novel which I wanted to read. I guess I made mistake because of similar covers. But when I read review of this book from one of my goodreads friends I decided to go ahead with it.
I liked the idea of PCD but there are too many paranormal creatures. Shifters and vampires I understand but I don't have any idea what Phage is. Of course, like any sane person, I used Google to find what that is but still Google failed at this point and I was disappointed. Authors should not write such confusing unknown new species for which they don't even care to provide description.

Also what is this monologues Sara has with her own mind? I was irritated more than Sara.

I might come back to this novel but chances are I won't.

Sera Benenati is a reporter trying to get herself out the gossip magazines and into a real paper. She’s investigating a series of strange murders linked to SUBS (Supernatural or Undead Beings).
Talon is the lead investigator for the PCD on the mysterious murders. He is contacted by reporter trying to find out more about the case. Talon can’t seem to get over his attraction to the female report. With another gruesome crime scene, He finds out there is a survivor, the Reporter Sera Benenati. See her only makes his need for grow, but as time passes she becomes a suspect in the ever growing mystery.
Code Black is paranormal romance/urban fantasy story. The first half of the book dealt more with development of the plot not any sort of relationship between the two main characters. The first half of the book dealt more with development of the plot not any sort of relationship between the two main characters. Yes, they are both drawn to each other. You see it predominantly with Talon as he tries to control his shifter urges. Sera struggles to hide a secret. She has a unique ability. As the story unfolded I found myself riveted to have my questions answered. It was a great read with a possibility of it becoming a series.
