Mad at the ending. The last chapter was setting up the story for a second book which honestly I'd really appreciated. Instead of it came the epilogue that left all of the could-be-a-great-sequel-story questions unanswered. It just... All magically ended up being solved. Done. But I would loved to know how... How did we got to that epilogue? What was Odile's journey after the last chapter and before that awfully magically solved epilogue came? So many unanswered questions that literally took this book down from nearly five stars to now three. Shame.

I enjoyed this retelling of Swan Lake, I was interested in the story though out the book. I enjoyed the magic system, but I wish we got more of it. World building wasn't complex but was still gave off a dark and magical atmosphere. I really enjoyed the FMC being in more of a villain and morally grey/black. I think some of the side characters could have been better developed or used more.

She had a warmth, a light, that drew me into her orbit—I was a moth and she a flame, I the tides and she the moon. Whatever we were, she was always, always the light, and I the thing skulking in the dark.
