Ok so I was looking for something to fill my Fallen Crest withdrawals and this came up as an option. So happy I read this series over some of the others I found because I now have a new obsession. The Royals sure know how to bring the heat with them because these books are sizzling H.O.T.!
This book picks up right where the last one ended. Reed was still facing going to jail.. Yes I said Jail over something he swore he didn't do. The Royals face it all from an arrest, murder, dirty judges, blackmail, someone coming back from the dead, and more! This book was so intense since there was so much going on.
I had a feeling about Steve and that something was totally off there, but I didn't see that ending coming! Wow! I really wanted to punch Steve and Dinah in the face many times throughout this book. However, by the end of the book, I actually felt bad for Dinah and Brooke most of all.
I am sad to see the Ella and Reed story end, but I am excited to read more about Gideon and Easton! I am excited to dive into the next book but it will have to wait as I have quite the list building for reviews. Stay tuned for my review of the next book in the series.

Okey...
A ver, no fue tan bueno como los otros dos libros pero igualmente me re enganchó, aunque medio que sospechaba de ese plotwist.
Hablando de los tres libros en general, fueron una lectura rápida y divertida la verdad. No es ni de cerca la mejor literatura que existe pero me re entretuvo, y hasta me la pasé riendome de las cosas que pasaban por lo absurdas que eran.
Pero en general me gustó :))

Auch wenn ich dieses Buch quasi verschlungen habe, und immer wissen wollte wie es weitergeht, habe ich ein paar Kritikpunkte. Es war mir alles in allem ein wenig zu viel Drama, zu verstörend und irgendwie nervig. Auch hat mich besonders ein Charakter die ganze Zeit gestört, er war irgendwie unfreundlich und gemein, und ich konnte viele seiner Entscheidungen nicht verstehen. Dies hat sich zum Ende zwar geändert (deswegen sage ich den Namen nicht) aber ich finde es hätte nicht so übertrieben sein müssen. Trotzdem fand ich die Geschichte super geschrieben, der Schreibstil hat es mir wirklich leicht gemacht das Buch zu lesen, und der Humor war hier wirklich einzigartig. Außerdem fand ich auch hier vor allem Ella als Charakter herausstechend, weil sie eine sehr starke Persönlichkeit hat, die für sich selbst einsteht und nicht alles mit sich machen lässt. Ein gutes, humorvolles Buch für zwischendurch, also trotz der kleinen Kritikpunkte eine Leseempfehlung.

Empecé la lectura sin muchas expectativas (ninguna) y efectivamente, estuvo a la altura de mi entusiasmo.
Honestamente, creo que es el libro más misógino que he leído en la vida; la representación de "la mujer" en estas páginas, da vergüenza ajena, no me voy a molestar ni en explicarlo...
Nunca unos protagonistas me habían parecido tan Meh!, lo juro... ya no sabía cuál de los dos POV me resultaba más tedioso. En los libros anteriores, esto se amortiguaba por la reconfortante presencia de personajes secundarios realmente entrañables, que esta vez apenas aparecen... (Wade me gustó, pero no fue suficiente.)
La trama, tan insípida como de costumbre, me sorprendió en el final. Sí, me sorprendió; porque ese desenlace lo descarté desde el primer momento, porque me parecía demasiado obvio... ¡qué ingenua yo!
Por mucho que intenté abstenerme de hacer teorías (porque sí, siempre supe que sería como la 8va temporada de GOT -y sí, estoy hablando de la serie de HBO- decepción total) mi cerebro involuntariamente formuló unas cuantas...
Por ejemplo, shipié a Callum y Steven con todas mis fuerzas... porque eso hubiese tenido más peso para justificar la lealtad ciega de Callum hacia este hombre: al punto de costarle el resentimiento de su propia familia, que lo que realmente se revela al final; o sea: wtf?
Otro cabo suelto es Gideon... o sea, su hermano menor enfrentándose a cargos con el peso de una vida entera detrás de las rejas, ¿y él nunca aparece? Once again: wtf? Considerando su antecedente con Dinah, el test de paternidad del feto y las muestras de ADN debajo de las uñas de Brooke... joder! Cito a Brook en el 2do libro para iluminar mi línea de pensamiento: “but DNA will show it belongs to a Royal. Those tests don’t always differentiate between relatives, particularly fathers and sons.
So, if you know what I mean...
Me leí este libro más por amor a Easton que por interés en el plot, pero incluso sabiendo que los siguientes libros son suyos... no me animo a intentarlo, siento que ya me he torturado suficiente. Al menos me alegro de haber completado la trilogía principal.
