No se muy bien porque no me enganchó. La historia me parecía buena (me gusto mas la peli) pero había algo con la escritura que me parecia off.

I just have to say first off, this is a very emotional read! I cried multiple times, and yes I laughed out loud at the witty humor, but the tears very much overcame the laughter. I felt so helpless reading this book and reading about the dogs and people. I mean how much can one person take while reading about things that are so bittersweet, it is hard to see the good. I thought the author did a fantastic job writing from a dog's perspective and I could even see my own dog thinking/saying the things that the dog in this book did. I was horrified at the dogs first life and how it changed into the second life. It was probably the most shocking of the four lives. The second life was warm and fuzzy and wonderful to read. I enjoyed the third life as well, though there wasn't as much time spent on it. Kinda sad to see that one end, then I was so flabbergasted that there was indeed a fourth and final life for our dog. I was completely blind sided by this life and cried more during this one that the others, except maybe the second life change. I thought it was a well written good and easy read, but very deep and makes you think of all the relationships with people and animals, and how they change and shape you. Over all I would say this book is very bittersweet bordering on sad. Do not read if you have just lost a loved one or animal!

Truth be told, I have a soft spot for dog books, and what better author to read than W. Bruce Cameron? He has basically mastered the art of writing dog books.

The book is basically about what the title says: a dog's purpose. A dog is born into multiple lives of the course of decades, but he doesn't know why. Soon enough, he figures out what his purpose is. There isn't much to say about this book, other than it is extremely emotional. Everything links back together somehow and by the end, you're like, ohhh that's why that happened. It's very cool.

My favorite storyline was Bailey's, because it is the most intricate and well-thought out one of the entire book. Bailey and his owner, Ethan, form such a beautiful bond that you can't help crying when it's all over. If I were a dog, I'd want Ethan to be my owner.

bottom line: A Dog's Purpose will make you cry and laugh, and it will make you appreciate your dogs more

This book will always have me looking at dogs differently. Seeing how they act will always make me question if they have lived before. It will have me wonder if they were once one of my beloved dogs.

Cameron wrote such a heartfelt story. It comes of as if this is a complete fact. That dogs are reborn and sometimes our own beloved dogs come back to you!

In this first book the dog as four lives. Toby, Bailey, Ellie, and Buddy. And we follow him through all his highs and lows of life. We get to see life through the eyes of a dog and it is so believable.

Is this a sad story? In my opinion, no. It is a feel good story. Yes you will cry, but you will also laugh! You will want to hug you dog, and if you don’t have a dog? You’ll want to go adopt one!

Cameron even teaches you things in this book. You learn the effects of a dog being left in a hot car, and how, possibly, dogs think and why they may act the way they do.

If you have a dog, if you love dogs, ever had one! I recommend this book to you!

I was very much between a 2 and 3 star rating since I would say it falls in a 2.5 rating, but I since I ‘round up’, I gave it a 3 star rating. This was based on thinking this was a book for YA or Adults, but it fell into the category for 'children'.

It’s cute little story, I’ll give it that, but I thought it was quite uncomplicated - simple words, super easy-to-read, simple writing that many authors could do - and really didn’t inspire me at all about dogs. Yes, dogs can be loyal, but isn’t that already a known fact?

While many believe dogs have uncomplicated minds, I felt like it was saying that there isn’t much that goes into their thought process. Overall, it made me feel like there was much more to be desired.

I found it difficult to make it through the pages because it was SO simplistic. The idea that dogs don’t entirely understand what other dogs are saying didn’t make me feel like it was even accurate.

I tend to cry easily, so I was ready for my tears to come at any point, but it never happened. Being an animal lover, and having worked with rescues and done fostering, I found this really lacking for an adult audience and more appropriate for young children.
