This has been on mg “want to read list” for quite some time.
Walking into it, I knew there was going to be a Stockholm syndrome background to it. I wasn’t sure as to the level it would be at, but I knew it was there.

It got a little cringy when he beat her with a belt. The whole washing down after would most like trigger some people. Like I said, this book was sure to be Stockholm-y. And it hit the nail on the head.
There was a lot of beating in this book, and I don’t just mean sexually.

This ended on a cliffy. There was absolutely zero conclusion. It didn’t get me too excited enough to jump right in to the next in the series, but it held my attention.

I thought the ending was very unsatisfying.

Probably the weirdest book I've ever read. I already purchased the whole series, but if I didn't, I don't know if I would continue to read it..

Rating: 4.5/5 stars. Ugh I love this book. This trope is my favourite and CJ seriously hit the spot. The character development, plot, just everything was so good. The descriptions for me got a bit boring, or when the characters were just thinking. But overall so so good I would recommend to everyone. Spice rating: 4/5 stars.
