this is a reread. also let me just say im so sad they didnt continue w the movies and even tho i didnt finish the show bc it was like nothing like the book and the book is better than both it still deserved another season. like if i hadnt read the book i would think the show was so good.

plot: in this one basically there are more strigoi attacks and they have to go on a ski trip and then mason (rip) decides he wants to be a hero so rose like goes to stop them but then they get into a strigoi attack and are like held hostage. and yeah. rose gets her first strigoi kill.

rose: i will never say anything abt this girl.

dimitri: love him sm

other characters:

liked: to add to previous i will say mia (she redeemed herself) and tasha. OH AND CHRISTIAN.

hated: like idek the strigoi ig. lowkey rose's mom

romance: so basically dimitiri and rose were fighting in this one bc of tasha and how tasha and dimtiri might get married bc it makes sense but like u can tell he doesnt want that and theres lowkey angst and i rlly fucked w it. and then at the end of the book we got sm more of them which i love. rose was like dating mason (rip) in this one which like i ship a little but theyre def better as friends also um he died so. and christian and lissa are so cute.

this is prob my 3rd fav in the series.

i hated tasha in this book But not because of dimitri and her but because i just hated her .

I LOVED CHRISTIAN IN THIS BOOK
ADRIAN GETS INTRODUCED IN THIS BOOK AND ITS >>
HE IS PINING AFTER ROSE THOUGH AND DIMItri gets so jealous because its funny he keeps saying ADRIAN IS TOO OLD FOR HER WHEN HE HIMSELF IS 24 like and adrian is 21 . SORRY DIMITIRI BUT YOUR AGE GAP IS BIGGER THAN ADRIAN AND HERS .

Unfortunately I really enjoyed this book and I am really enjoying the series..still lots of weird sexism and sex shaming but we are starting to see more how misogyny functions in this world and particularly for the main character and her mommy issues that become a lot more fleshed out. This book got more serious about the politics and more intense stuff in the world which I really enjoyed and we see Rose maturing a good bit more. Also the fast pace was so fun. Disliked the ending and still hate the age gap in the main romance but I do appreciate the way they understand each other. Continuing with the series lol

The pace was pretty slow but since the book is so short I didn't really mind it. I'm wondering how Adrian will affect the plot from here on. Also Dimitri is kinda growing on me??
