Absolutely stunning follow up to The Marrow Thieves. Riveting plot continuation and the character building and development was amazing. Fans of The 100 will love this. Excellent Indigenous addition to my classroom library!!

What an incredible sequel to The Marrow Thieves. It was great to travel with these characters again and to get their stories wrapped up.

Wow, this series has my whole heart and soul. The writing is stunning and the content is gripping, heartbreaking, and eye-opening.

In this series we follow a found family, who are constantly on the run from being captured to be tested, pocked and prodded for their bone marrow. The indigenous communities are being captured because they are the only population left on the planet who are able to dream. Once your dreams are gone, you become a shell of yourself. This book is the follow up to The Marrow Thieves and it picks up where the last book left off.

I cried so hard reading these books, you come to love these characters so much. A lot more happens in this sequel then in the first book, it is much longer and has multiple POVs we are following.

Other than the middle getting a little drawn out and the ending feeling rushed, I really loved this read. The writing style of Dimaline's cannot be matched, it is so beautiful. I love this found family and how they will never leave one behind.

I cannot recommend this series enough!

As a huge fan of The Marrow Thieves I was so excited when this book came out. It did not disappoint! It is significantly larger than the first book and spreads the story between even more characters. This book brings up a lot of moral dilemmas that I had to ponder.
Loved it!

The sequel doesn't land. I kind of liked the way Dimaline moves the plot forward and then backtracks to tell it from a new voice, but it was a strange decision to disregard those limited perspectives and switch to omniscient narration for a couple of paragraphs mid-chapter...and to do it multiple times. But this should in no way dissuade people from reading The Marrow Thieves and letting it rest as the stand-alone novel it was intended to be.

I read this one almost back to back after finishing the first one and I almost think I liked it better? You get to see firsthand the horrors of the harvesting/conversion schools and it's terrifying. Really interesting sequel.
