No disrespect, I'm a big fan of Wim but I did not enjoy this book. Discovering the legend and his techniques through Youtube docs, podcasts, the app and practicing the technique speaks for itself. Fully in, letting go. However, I wasn't captivated by iceman's charisma in a written format. I don't know what I was expecting anyway. Reading it is not DOING it. This stuff is experiential. Maybe if I'd never heard about Wim and his ways I would have valued the book more. Maybe this would be a better audio book?

I agree with many comments for previous readers. The book could be shorter, better written, better edited.
Being aware of the WHM method for a long time, I was expecting more from this book.
But at the end of the day, it got me to take a cold shower every morning, and to get a better tolerance to cold water, with some of the benefits explained in the book. So for that, I'll give 4*.

Such a delight to read, I was smiling throughout. This is just about the book I imagine Wim Hof would write- exuberant, haphazard, and unapologetically true to himself. I look forward to discovering where his road leads next.

This review is of the book and not the Wim Hof method itself.
I really enjoyed reading about Wim Hof and his life and the way he developed this method. He is such an interesting, characterful guy but I just wish there was more of that.
However, the rest of the book felt a bit like a sales pitch. There wasn’t many facts and figures, and there wasn’t an awful lot of science, apart from assumptions and theories about how it could be working.
The book was broken up with short excepts from readers with testimonials about how wim Hof had helped them. I would have liked to get to know these people more, had more of their back story rather than a short quote - again, it felt very salesy.
It’s not that I’m skeptical about the method itself, it’s more that I don’t think the book was necessary.
However, I guess the sales peice has worked as I’ve decided to download the app and try it for myself!

I'm very curious about Wim Hof and the claims. I will try the advice for cold hands. I've dabbled with the breathing technique a little. The book itself is very repetitive. It's very anecdotal. I've heard all of it on podcasts before. I'm sure there's some truth. I will remain skeptical but look into some of it further.
