*true crime*

I was disappointed. I think I was expecting a true crime podcast or documentary in print, with the twist that the author actually knew the killer. This was more of a broad (and very long) survey of the Ted Bundy saga. You didn’t get to know any of the victims and all of their stories felt glossed over. Maybe that’s a function of there just being so many of them…I’m not sure. But I found myself bored and scanning through a lot of the book. Every time there was another added epilogue I groaned inwardly.
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Was an interesting read. I didn't end up reading past afterword as I lost interest. The version I read only had 518 pages.

This was an informative book written by Ann, who considered Ted a friend before his crimes came to light. She did not include the fact that Ted engaged in necrophilia with the bodies of his victims. She does highlight that she did not want to believe that he could have committed his crimes, but with the overwhelming evidence she had to.  She doesn’t over humanize him and writes about who he was as she observed. His duplicity with women he was dating and his charm were all highlighted.

Natapos ko din sa wakas! 4 yrs! This was a struggle read for me… wala nman ako na-gain from this. And parang may pagka-groupie eto si ate. Tas, ganun ba sha ka-close? Or feeling nya lang close sila? Ewan!

In short, not for me.. pero kudos to me for finally finishing this one.
