It was a one day read for me and I enjoyed it. Not my favorite Freida book but for a quick read it was good.

Synopsis: Cassie thinks she has met the perfect man.
Joel is sweet, handsome, romantic, and best of all, he’s crazy about Cassie. She thinks she’s found the guy she’ll spend the rest of her life with. Have children with. Grow old with.
Yes, she knows about his perfect ex-girlfriend, Francesca. The beautiful, brilliant chef, beloved by all his friends. But she thinks Francesca is out of the picture. She thinks Francesca is gone for good.
Think again, Cassie ✨

After loving The Housemaid, I was looking forward to reading another book by the same author but this one started off so well but as the book went on i found myself confused. None of the characters were likeable and I just wanted to finish the book the more I read. 3

Intriguing from the start. Easy to listen to up to a point. The ending is confusing and I actually went back some chapters to figure it out.

I don’t think I can completely buy into the final motive here.

Recommend? Eh, I guess if you’re on a mission to finish the backlist, but there are better FMcF books! I don’t consider this a good sampling of the several books I have enjoyed by McFadden.
