What the hell. I finished it two hours ago and I'm just getting more mad.

This book's blurb really intrigued me and I was on board for at least 1/2 of the book. However, I was still being introduced to new characters 3/4 of the way through the book and by this point the plot was dragging. Maya's sarcastic banter felt forced to me and I found all the characters one-dimensional. I've read "spine-tingling" thrillers and this is not one of them.

Also, at one point Maya stops in a CVS and uses the restroom. I've never seen a public restroom in a CVS.

Not my fave of his. Good story with a kind of surprise ending (I didn't see it coming).

I found myself looking for the many ways the twist could appear in this plot-- I was pretty satisfied with it, though it lost a bit of momentum in the 2nd half until the finale.

umm.....what?

I was really enjoying this book. I liked the mystery, I was curious about what was going on. About halfway through it got a little draggy and I was getting a little bored, but it picked back up again and I was into it.

Until the ending.

I'm annoyed. I feel like the ending was a cop out because there were no clues leading up to it. I have a love/hate relationship with figuring out endings, but at least when I figure them out it's because there were clues there and a way to actually figure it out. This one came out of left field.

SpoilerI mean, really, the woman who is investigating the death of her husband is the one that killed him all along? REALLY? And that weird twenty five years later chapter was just... weird. I feel like I didn't like the characters enough to warrant that. Sigh.

This book started slow for me. I considered giving up on it and then something happened that made me want to keep going. Then it started to drag again. I'm still going to check out more by Coben but this one wasn't my favourite.

I really enjoyed this one! It was a page turner and I finished it in one day. It was full of surprises and kept me guessing.

Everyone including the narrator seemed unreliable, and I was there for every minute of it!

3.5 stars. Though it's the first time since "Gone For Good" that I have disliked the ending of a Coben book so much. But I still enjoyed the book on the whole.
