I read the most up-to-date version, and I was worried after seeing reports of it being a bit dated/sexist/non-inclusive. However, I was relieved to say with the updates, it seems they've gotten with the times for the most part. I really appreciated the inclusivity of all types of partners (and those without) as well as the language around weight gain/loss being sensitive.

I will say, lots of great info in this. I also use the app. I've never had a baby before so I think, for me, it was beneficial. I really took a lot from it.

That being said, I immediately read "Expecting Better" right after and I think that's a better read for decisions as far as like will you drink coffee while pregnant, are baths okay, etc.

This one is the behemoth, covering all the topics from the mundane -- what should I eat -- to the startling -- I did cocaine before I knew I was pregnant; will that hurt my baby??

Clearly, I live a pretty boring life. This book covers it all but is a little preachy and annoying about the weight gain aspect. I wouldn't recommend this as a cover-to-cover read. I read parts and then set it aside.

This book was very informational and answered any possible question you could have. I referred to it as my pregnancy Bible and always recommend to pregnant friends.

I'll be honest, I didn't read the whole book. I think I made myself a favour. While it has good information in some topics, more than anything it's a bit alarmist and condescending, and in my opinion a bit outdated.
There's gotta be better books, else, there's internet.
