This story is a heartwarming second-chance romance with depth and relatable characters. Emergency Contact by Lauren Layne and Anthony Ledonne is a delightful romantic treat that I devoured in one sitting.
Meet Katherine Tate. An ambitious NYC attorney who finds herself in an unexpected situation. Diagnosed with a concussion, she must be monitored for 48 hours to ensure her condition doesn't worsen. The catch? She forgot to update her emergency contact information, and the person they call is her ex-husband.
She reluctantly agrees to travel with Tom for the holidays but thanks to a blizzard, what should have been a quick plane ride turns into an antagonistic overnight misadventure.
I adored the setting of this story. The snowy backdrop of Chicago during the holidays really added charm and a layer of cozy. I found Layne and Ledonne crafted terrific characters in Katherine and Tom. They’re everything you want: flawed, genuine, and their chemistry leaps off the pages.
From laughter to tears, this rom-com delivers all of the emotions. Whether you're looking for writing that shines, laughter, love, or a touch of holiday magic at any time of year, this book delivers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was cute. I didn't love how Catherine made everything so about herself and did not seem at all phased by how her agenda affected Tom. I do understand the strong female character, but this was a hair too far. I also felt like Lola got the short end of the stick.
