It was entertaining but nothing extraordinary. The characters could’ve been deeper in my humble opinion ☺️

Well I’m sobbing. An absolute mess. This story is about overcoming and finding yourself. Doing things for you and not just others. Overcoming past traumas and unfortunately new ones. It’s heartbreaking, raw, and real. There is something beautiful about that.

I’m sorry but this book was not it. What was that ending?

I enjoyed this book overall but there were a few parts I didn’t like, the first thing being the several grammatical errors throughout the book - it definitely could’ve used another run through with an editor. While I liked the connection between Thayer and Salem, I felt that Salem’s immaturity and young age definitely showed throughout their relationship, as much as they both kept claiming that she was “different from others her age” and “more mature”. She definitely still came across as a nineteen year old girl which made their age gap relationship feel a little icky at times. The spice was done well and there wasn’t too much of it - the plot definitely carried the book. Another thing that bothered me was the cheating trope, so that made me dislike Salem for a while, especially when she continued to run back to Caleb during difficult times and use him for comfort. I was so sad about what happened towards the end, I can’t even imagine what that must have been like. The cliffhanger ending has me looking forward to the next book in the series, and I’m glad that this series has multiple books focused on the same main characters.

I really enjoyed this book but was there a trigger warning I missed?? It was definitely shocking and gut wrenching and hard to get through that part of the book but other than that I really liked it. The spice level is through the roof and the tension that built up was great lol. I was so angry though at the end I almost wanted to chuck my kindle at the wall but i paid too much for it to do that lmao

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I went in blind and didn’t check the trigger warnings—something I definitely regret, as I was in tears by the end. So, please make sure to review those before diving in.

The writing style felt somewhat flat and a bit juvenile at times, which made it hard for me to fully connect with the characters or the emotional weight of certain scenes. That said, the storyline itself was compelling enough to keep me turning the pages, and the steamy moments were addictive and well-executed.

Originally, I was leaning toward a two-star rating based on the prose alone—but the moment I finished, I downloaded the second book without hesitation — all that to say, despite its flaws, the plot had enough pull that I had to know what happens next. So while it wasn't a perfect read, it definitely did its job in keeping me hooked.
