I completely devoured this book! Brother rivalry and mates. Yesssssssss please.

I really liked this one! Adara is Starblessed, or chosen to bare the marks of the stars. Royalty believes her blood will bring them power, while she struggles to maintain her own identity.  Of course not everything goes as planned, for anyone.

Evren is drawn to Adara, despite her being betrothed to the crown prince. But can he share what he knows? This book is full of magic, secrets, and forbidden romance.

Although A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows does do really anything new with the fantasy romance genre, Renee crafts a high-steam tale that will leave you clutching your pearls with the cliffhanger. Excuse me...now I need to find a way to get book 2 now.

It was a bit predictable and had a few editing errors, but I also stayed up until 3am to finish it.

I wish there were more build up or tension or mystery or something. Felt like reading a wash up version of blood and ash

I honestly really love the concept of this book. The brevity means it’s not as deep as I would have wanted - the plot moves quickly and I think it misses some character development due to this. But it’s a quick read, with lots of spice, so I can’t complain. I have heard that this reads like an ACOTAR fanfic, but I haven’t read ACOTAR so 🤷🏼‍♀️
