This was a fun and easy read. It's got Fae/Humans/Vampyres, a shadow weilder with a mouth to die for, and a FMC who doesn't accept her fate. It's a very easy read, where the focus is mostly on romance with some fantasy sprinkled in.
Adara is the Starblessed and she's betheones to a Fae crown prince, but she yearns for another. This twists and turns (though a lot of them are predictable).
Adara is feisty, even when she doesn't know what to do with that desire sometimes. (Though sometimes I wanted to be like "c'mon girl, be smarter". Because that's a problem - she doesn't always use her brain.) Evren is a shadow daddy worth lusting after (most of the time). And Gabriel - he can kick rocks.
There was a lot of insta-lust/love going on. The two MCs want each other with no real basis to it. While we find out their fated mates, I had trouble getting behind this part of the story. I prefer a slow burn.

A Kingdom of Stars and Shadows
A fast, steamy fantasy read that doesn’t go too deep in this first book, but still manages to hook you with its pacing and tension. The romance and spice are definitely the highlights, and while the story starts off feeling a bit familiar, the twist at the end was genuinely great—it pulled me in and made me want to dive straight into the next book.
Favorite Quotes:
“The stars may guide us, but it’s the shadows that shape us.”
“He tasted like danger, and I was starving for it.”
Not overly complex, but it delivers on the fantasy-romance promise—and ends strong enough to keep me turning pages.
