I really wanted to like this but Animals Eat Each Other sadly fell flat for me.

I enjoyed Nash's raw prose but as a whole this novella came off as edgy/emo without any real substance. Some interesting topics such as satanism, the effects of having an absent father & three-way relationships were brought up but were sadly not developed enough.

All in all, aesthetics-wise this was satisfying, but that's pretty much it.

I hated every single element of this book and it took everything I had to not DNF when I read the passage “Inside of his eyes, there was a wild pale blue like a wolf on a hill at dawn.”
dark emotional

This was a wild ride of a girl in love who was vulnerable and addicted to substances. It was pretty sad actually. And Matt is a piece of shit.
