what i really needed was a short fast book to distract me for a couple of hours, and that was this book.
this book is solid if you just want a quick read. i didn't feel many things reading this, but there wasn't enough time to really feel. there were a few eloquent moments that did feel impactful, but most of this book is just words. unimpactful words
the main character is very drab, but i think that may be the point? we know she's closed off and lustful, thinks a lot but isn't very talkative, and sympathetic. i still wanted... more though. maybe i just shouldn't read short books
i liked the continuous vibe of death and rebirth. that was fun. but i didn't like when the book felt the need to spell it out for us. i didn't really like that the story of lilith was also outwordly explained... it would've been fun to leave something out for interpretation.
i really don't think there's a lot to think about with this book after it's done. it's a book, it had themes, you finish it, it's done.
6/10
i neither recommend nor don't recommend this book

AHH I ate this one up and it felt kind of like junk food. Delicious and enjoyable to read and also left a strange taste in my mouth. I’m torn between being seduced by the way Nash writes about the main character’s relationship with pain and feeling upset about the way bdsm is portrayed— a little 50 shades re: lack of real safety, negotiation, or consent.

If you have not known about Elle Nash’s content and stories and plots that she deals with, you better stay away, unless you’re like me and want to explore some bang-on and hard-on smutty and crazy erotica stuff with literary aesethtics, lucid prose, and comprehensive narration.
What a debut novella! Just at 120 pages, this dirty and visually impactful story about Lilith and her bizarre and complex relationship with a married couple—Matt, a satanist and a tattoo artist, and Frances, a new mom and a bitchy wife—and its aftermath delves into both psychological and physiological aspects of the human mind and body.
The nameless narrator (later named Lilith, the first wife of Adam, by the couple) is a complex, confused, aimless graduate girl who works in a boring job at RadioShack in a strip mall. Her father is dead due to some liver complications, while her mother worked as a caretaker for the elderly. They live in a mobile home park.
Jenny, Lilith’s middle school friend and the one who got her this job, introduces her to Matt and Frances. Soon, the trio gets connected through tattoos and then in a tangle of threesome sadomasochistic sessions, where Frances is just a cuddler and a watcher while Matt and Lilith have their sexual fluids oozing in an intense and deep orgasmic play.
Meanwhile, the evilness coupled with jealousy and obsession in Lilith slowly lurks as she plans to have Matt for herself.
In between, she fucks her boss, Sam, in the office (sometimes in public parks) and in his apartment, and her friend Jenny in her parents’ basement room. Also, when Matt and Frances introduce her to their friends Patrick and Maya (cousin-couple/incestual parent), she becomes close and starts text-flirting with Patrick too.
When Frances knows about Lilith’s intentions of separating Matt from her and when Maya knows about Patrick and Lilith’s text exchanges, the inevitable breakup happens.
So, is Lilith really heartbroken? Or did she plan revenge on Frances? Or did she choose the self-inflicted path of drugs and casual sex?
This story is a no-story for readers who are not yet prepared to move into the dirty world of hard rock, tattoo artists, satanic worship, and other disturbing events and sexual orientations as such.
However, the taut writing and graphical elucidation with clarity make the prose free-flowing and keep you engaged. The high point of this novel is the raw and unfiltered narration of sexual acts it portrays.
If you want to explore something new, slutty, and kinky to get you into sexual high, read it now!

Typos and it felt kind of hollow in a way that didn't keep my interest.
Some lines I loved:
Needles being handled by a man who says “trust me” and so you do.
The summer night was hot and dry in a way that made the sky feel wide open.

I absolutely fell in love with this book and Elle Nash’s writing style. The book is quite raw, depicting some intense scenarios throughout, which I personally enjoyed, but it is NOT for everyone!!!
