The nostalgia/easy summer reading continues! Things were a little too convenient with this mystery. Also, where are Bess and George?! I remember them vividly but right now Nancy's only main friend is the older Helen Corning.

In this one, things really start heating up for Nancy. First of all, she and her friend Helen get caught in a storm while in a boat (she also gets stranded in a boat in The Secret of the Old Clock; I think she should really avoid the water) and just when Helen is telling Nancy to save herself, an attractive (because everyone's attractive in these books) 16-year-old called Laura shows up in her own boat to save the both of them! Huzzah!

What can I say? It's Nancy Drew so therefore I enjoyed it. Strange to read it as an adult since the mystery seemed so obvious but still a fun trip down memory lane.

I enjoy the Nancy Drew mysteries, but I found this one a little hard to follow, and Nancy was a bit too reckless for my taste.

This was just the fun and easy read I needed. I love reading children's literature like this to keep my reads light, fun and balanced. Sometimes, too many heavy classics or serious non-fictions can make me feel like reading is more of a chore than a hobby. I believe it is still important to keep our imagination alive as we grow older, this is what will keep life colorful!

“Romance and detective work won’t mix tonight” should be Nancy’s new motto.

These are such fun nostalgic books. Nancy is always doing the most and getting into trouble.

This one felt more real to me. Nancy once again can do it all, and discover things that get her in trouble with the bad guys. Danger, and mystery throughout. The Bungalow is a small part of this book, but it makes the story.

It was great to finally read a Nancy Drew book the way it was originally published.
