This book is much different than others that I have read. Some parts I liked and others have left me scratching my head. However, I'm still intrigued and want to know more so as an author she must be doing something right.

This is much different than Her book, Worship, which is my favorite of 2019. So if you came her because of that book be prepared.

Boring and the FMC was annoying and I just didn’t care to find out what was happening

This is my first time reading Trilina Pucci and I loved this story!! It was suspenseful and kept me on the edge the whole time. Mia is a wonderful heroine who went through such a terrible and traumatic event. I enjoyed learning Mia’s missing memories as she did. It kept the story moving and exciting. Usually amnesia story lines get on my nerves, but this one was done so well! All the characters were full of life and emotions!
I had so many feelings about Jack and Cole from the beginning. I was pulled toward Cole and found Jack angry and unsettling. Cole’s Alpha possessiveness felt right for Mia.
As this story unraveled I was cheering halfway through and in shock! Then seeing the decisions Mia’s man has to make created an even more complex character!
That ending!!!!! I’m starting book two now!

Spoiler-y Guesses

My money says it’s a set up and I think I know by who!!! I’m just curious that characters back story!!

I adore stories where the heroine has memory loss from a traumatic event, and she doesn't know all the details about exactly happened to her. The uncertainty of it all excites me! What really happened? Are the memories she actually does have reliable? How good are her instincts when it comes to the people in her life now? Who can she trust? Can you believe anyone at all?! Come Back To Me gave me all of that, and I enjoyed trying to figure things out right along with the heroine.

Mia suffered memory loss as a result of being attacked at a dinner party. She blocked out a chunk of her life, and her family and friends have been advised by her doctor to let her recover her memories on her own. That proves to be slow going which is unfortunate, because recovering her memories might literally save her life. Someone attacks her again and follows it up with some good, old fashioned stalking. Mia needs to remember now more than ever what happened in her past  or she may not have a future.

Come Back to Me by Trilina Pucci is an intriguing romance that will keep you guessing the whole way through. The uncertainty of the main character's memory made me question all the people close to her and their motives constantly. I loved that the author's writing style allowed me to fly through the book, so I didn't have to wait long to find the answers to a lot of my questions.

I don't want to say much else about this novel, because I feel like most things could be considered a spoiler. What I will say is I'm eager to read the second part of this duet. This one left me with a big question, and as usual, I want to know the answer asap! Lol If you enjoy books chock full of suspence, mystery, and a healthy dose of steam, this might be the one for you!

Wow. Yep. Wow - that is all I can give. For such a strong storyline from a debut release I am beyond floored. I am captivated and I am conflicted yet confused.

So why would I say that? Well easy, Mia is a victim of an attempted assault a few years prior, one that traumatized her so badly she lost several tidbits of her memory; you would think she could move on but then she is mugged which triggers more lost memories, her fearing for her life and more drama than one person should handle. On one hand you have the powerful hero, Cole trying to win her over with his dripping sexual appeal and charismatic personality while on the other spectrum you have Jack - the guy who was randomly visiting another woman in her apartment complex yet when trouble calls he calls himself Mia's 'boyfriend' - talk about soap opera.

Mia is somewhat a mystery to me. Like most of the characters in Come Back to Me, but even as the main perspective and character she completely baffles me. And honestly, how can you blame me? Mia is a mystery to even herself. This level of twist building for the character growth is riveting, it completely aids in the suspense of the novel. Where she is smart and curious, she is also faulty and quite childish personality. She has such a one-eighty change on her personality spectrum that as I get more of her backstory into her accident she completely changes things up throwing me a curve ball.

With the two love interests, if you can consider them that, in Mia's life continues to grow more questions. Obviously there are secrets from both Cole and Jack, but also surrounding Mia involving other secondary characters. Jack is obviously creepy, I'm sorry, he irked me from the beginning introduction. Cole on the other hand was also something of a reclusive mystery. Though he was more adamant on this awkward insta-connection with Mia, he was the possessive hero of the story - but why? I was constantly questioning every dynamic for the worth of both Cole and Jack's characters towards the plot. Obviously they held some significance to everything, but what?

You can see where this might be going - love triangle. But honestly in my opinion, did Jack even really have a chance? He was completely overbearing towards Mia, and still I cannot get over how creepy he was towards every situation. He was quick to throw insults towards Mia, he was slightly toxic character.

I will also admit that at times the dialogue had a certain level of awkward feels. Plus with Mia's personality, I understood she was a weaker mindset, lord knows I would be, but she seemed rather childish, inferior. Why couldn't she just be her own person? She was constantly depending on Jack or Cole to be her hero instead of being the heroine herself.

All I can say right now is I am completely and utterly confused. And I mean that in the best of ways. This entire suspense of the plot took me for a ride and it is still rounding my head in full spins trying to keep up. I love cliffhangers to stunning climatic builds like these; as a reader it leaves you completely questioning your sanity, trying to devolve the true mystery of each character leaving you wanting more. I cannot wait to dive into Forever with Me - looking forward to finding out the truths behind the character dynamics, I just know I am in for a ride.
dark emotional tense medium-paced

This was a freebie I stumbled across on a list of book deals. I’ve been obsessed with amnesia storylines lately so when this popped up I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be one of the craziest, most ridiculous and confusing stories that I’ve read in a long time. It’s a slightly dark, over the top soap opera. I know two stars looks bad, but the text with that rating is “it was ok” which I think is accurate. I didn’t exactly like it, and yet I was oddly fascinated and I thought the storyline had potential.

In the very first chapter our narrator, Mia, is mugged. She’s rescued by a guy who looks familiar, but she faints before she can figure out who he is. Then she almost catches an intruder in her apartment, and discovers she may have a stalker. The main suspect is a man who tried to rape her 18 months ago. Mia tracks down her rescuer wanting to know why he looks familiar. She is instantly attracted to Cole, but she thinks he’s hiding things from her. She’s also already in a hot and cold relationship with a guy named Jack, but it is overshadowed by her intense feelings for Cole.

Then Mia has a flashback to the night she was almost raped. That’s when her family finally tells her that she has amnesia. She knew she had blocked out the attack, but she didn’t realize she actually lost the previous two months as well. The doctors advised her family to let her try to regain her memories on her own, and they are now starting to come back. The rest of the book focuses on Mia’s struggle to regain her memories, her complicated relationships with Cole and Jack, and the mystery of her stalker.

There were so many things about this book that confused me. For example, I didn’t realize Mia was unaware of her memory loss. I kept wondering why it wasn’t mentioned by anyone, why she wasn’t questioning certain things. I’m kind of amazed that she never figured it out on her own. I also think it’s crazy that it was kept from her. I get that she was traumatized, but she forgot some really important things. How long were they going to keep everything from her? I thought the story was difficult to follow since the narrator was unreliable. I get that we were meant to be in the dark like Mia, but I didn’t feel like it paid off. Mia doesn’t actually figure anything out on her own.

I thought the relationship between Cole and Mia had potential, but I didn’t always like Cole. He’s possessive and at times domineering which doesn’t appeal to me at all. He’s also extremely violent at times. Mia thought it was hot when he beat a guy up, but it was a major turn off for me. I did like how he stayed loyal to her and believed in their relationship so that’s a plus. As for Mia, she kind of baffled me. She wants to break up with Jack at the beginning because she thinks he cheated on her, then she’s clinging to him and calling him her boyfriend, then pushing him away again. Admittedly he’s as hot and cold as she is, and she has been traumatized, but I could never figure her out.

One other thing that turned me off was the awkward, stilted and at times cheesy dialogue. Especially at the beginning I found it distracting. It doesn’t always flow very well, and I’d find myself reading passages multiple times as a result.

As I said at the beginning, this book is like a soap opera. I mean it’s completely ridiculous the number of times Mia is attacked and it’s incredibly convenient that she completely forgets a romantic relationship. It’s one of those books where you keep reading to see just how much crazier it can get. I couldn’t help but be intrigued trying to figure out just what was going on, but I was a little disappointed in the answers. I also had high hopes for Cole and Mia until I actually got to know them. The book does end on a little bit of a cliffhanger, but it wasn’t enough to inspire me to read the sequel. I kind of wish I could find someone to spoil it for me though. I’m pretty sure I could guess the entire plotline and it would be nice to know if I’m right.

I don’t think I have read anything this addicting by a new author in some time; I couldn’t put Come Back to Me by Trilina Pucci down. This book will seduce you into thinking you’re reading one thing than captive you with the twists and turns. I don’t want to give anything away, just know that you will not be sorry that you read this book. Mia and Cole will have you wanting a drink, cold shower, and be begging for the next book.
