Gonna read all Neal Barnard books. Well-written, well-researched, and so insightful. I hope to achieve good results on my health management like the other readers who left glowing reviews on this title.
Earlier books by Dr. Barnard better explain the rationale for the vegan diet but this book geared specifically for diabetics helped my father tremendously when he was diagnosed with diabetes and serious associated kidney damage. The book gives an overview of much of the medical information behind diabetes in the body, the tests used to monitor it, and the drugs used to treat it which was very helpful.
I am not diabetic, but I found this book and Bernard's low fat/high carb/lower glycemic vegan diet/lifestyle plan to be intensely intriguing! I love that he prescribes a holistic nutritional based resolution while still emphasizing the importance of conventional medicine in some cases of diabetes. Beyond that, I'm excited to try a few of the recipes and nutritional suggestions that I learned from Dr. Bernard in this book!

very interesting book! It's amazing how a simple diet change can reverse one of top ten global causes of death. Recommend it to everyone.
