I had a really good time with this one !!! I love the way this author writes and tells a story. For the most part, all of the characters were extremely either likable relatable, or someone I could see living right down the street. The plot and pacing of this story were pretty much pitch perfect. And while I did kind of see part of the end coming, I was not prepared for the last little twist Mr Dugoni shared with us. Robert is a new Author for me,this being the first detective story of his I read. And I also read the first book in his espionage series. I enjoyed that as well. Hopefully I can get my hands on the second installment of the Tracy Crosswhite series soon!!

This book almost made me cry multiple times. I was just so heartbroken by what happened to Sarah & how that impacted Tracy her family hole life as well as her families. You really grieve for the Crosswhite’s and really the whole town. I liked that Tracy was strong but also let herself be vulnerable. I loved Rex and Sherlock— what a bunch of sweet boys. And Dan was a breath of fresh air. I will say the end caught me totally by surprise! I enjoyed the book & am looking forward to the rest of the series

Overall My Sister's Grave by Robert Dugoni was entertaining. It's the first book in the Tracy Crosswhite series and the second Dugoni booked I’ve read. The pacing was solid and the plot kept me engaged from the start.

Like normal, my pet peeve in storytelling is when the entire plot hinges on a character simply not sharing key information.

This entire book wouldn't have been a thing if the police chief had just shown Tracy the prison that was built inside the abandoned mine. He didn't have to share much, if any, other detail.

Despite that frustration, I'm optimistic about the series. I think Dugoni has built a strong foundation with the characters, and I have a feeling the later books won't need to rely on the same kind of convenient secrecy. While this book had a flaw that drives me crazy, it was still a good enough read to make me want to see where Tracy's journey goes next.

This book is not disappointing at all! This is my first novel from this author. No surprise as this book received 160k reviews the book itself gave u chills and the way the author wrote just keeps u on the edge. Don't even get me started on the way he wrote procedural court scenes and court argument. He did his research. Hence, 5 stars! I will definitely read another work from Dugoni. Glad i started with this one.

The way the dad sacrificed and ended up shooting himself... That is just damn sad.
