I am a fan of the show and was excited to see a book come out, unfortunately this book is just a copy and paste of the shows first season, down to the chapters being the same names as the episodes, in order. I could have just turned my captions on the tv and gotten the same thing. Except the book is written from Emma and Snow's point of view only, Henry fills in some gaps but they leave out so much by leaving out the other characters points of views. Very disappointed.

Almost identical to the TV show, having watched it first I did get a bit bored as knew everything that was happening, been nice to have a few added extras in it.

Even though I have watched the first season at least 3 times, I really enjoyed the book. It's not the script. It's like a tale of the episodes adding a depth to some characters, especially Snow and Emma. It does leave out many things. For example, Belle is barely mentioned. The book is all about Snow, Emma, Charming and Henry. I wish it included more. It would be even better then.
I wonder if they will write such a book for the other seasons too.

I love this tv series so much. I was hooked on it when I started watching it on dvd and I ended up watching the first two seasons in two weeks. I didn't think the book could meet the expectations of the series, and it didn't really. The book was told only through the perspective of Emma in Storybrooke and Snow in Fairy Tale Land and, like another reviewer said, this really took away the depth and complexity that you find in the show. I didn't like how Henry had to explain some of the other stories, whereas they are fully explored in episodes in the series. I don't know, maybe this book is good if you read it before watching. But reading it after? Nothing can compare to the series, and for me this book didn't. That being said, it WAS interesting to READ what happened, rather than watch.

I liked it - to přesně vystihuje můj vztah ke knižnímu OUAT. Líbilo se mi to. Na konci jsem plakala. Bylo fajn si připomenout první sérii.

Má to ovšem až příliš mnoho ALE:

No dobrá, v knižní podobě mi seděly víc.

I didn't have to read far to see it is just like the show. I guess if you can't watch the first season then read this book

This book was basically a retelling of the first season of the show. I really liked it because it reminded me of things I forgot had happened but other parts were boring because I knew what would happen.

This was so good. Not nearly as amazing as the show, but it still stuck close to the story. I just wish they told more about the past enchanted forest stuff.
