When I first started this book I was so confused because I thought it was going to be a girl who wanted revenge on her ex boyfriend so she applied to his brothers company to get a job to seduce him. But I also knew they must have had history because of the excerpt of Silas and Adrian talking in the last book where Silas tells Adrian he “found her”. Then I was reading the “two years later” part of the book and was so confused why we were getting such mundane conversations it felt like their time together at the shelter could have been summarized a lot more but then when I got to the part about her memory loss it made a lot more sense we needed to know those mundane things. I didn’t love how they had her regain her memory all at once it felt a little forced to me but this story was really great I think Silas and Alanna were so great together!!
Writing a review for this one after reading it twice... and at 500ish pages, that definitely says something. If you are reading a reviews, there is a strong likelihood that you are trying to assess whether this book is for you, so I shall break it down very simply.
First of all, this is a long book, so be prepared. As you may infer, that also means this book is a slow slow burn. If you need insta love, then this is not your read. If you want to be tortured slowly for a few hundred pages, then you have to read this. Oh, and the payoff is totally worth it IMO.
Second, shit gets dark in this one, so be prepared. We have death, evil parents, amnesia, homelessness and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head without the book in my hand. If you are looking for a rom com, this ain't it. If you want to feel every emotion you could possibly think of, then definitely pick this one up.
Lastly, Silas is one of my top 5 favorite MMCs (The rest of them are Windsors obvi... IYKYK!) in contemporary romance, so if you need a man to swoon over, I highly suggest this one. And don't even get me started on our FMC. I don't want to spoil any of her story, but I will say she is a true heroine and you'll find yourself cheering for her every step of the way!

It’s not a literary masterpiece but I did read it in one sitting and enjoy it
Okay I've never been a huge fan of the amnesia trope but this book right here has convinced me to second guess that opinion. I truly enjoyed this, but I do wish there was just a tad bit more of development between the characters.

I was utterly captivated by Silas and Alanna's journey. Silas embodies hope and determination. He is stoic, powerful, and commanding, yet possesses a tender and vulnerable core. Alanna is headstrong and incredibly resilient in challenging times. Their story is intricate, shrouded in mystery and complex machinations. Their bond is profound and seemingly fated, illustrating that love can truly overcome all obstacles. What a fantastic read!

AMAZING!!!! It was so much more than I was
expecting. It broke my heart, put it back together,
and did it all over again... until finally it mended it
and it was so freaking worth it. Every stage of their
lives was told in the most delicate way. It began with
friendship, that turned and built into an epic love
story. The love between Silas and Alana is one for the
books. I love everything about this, even the
heart wrenching moments.
