"So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I'm both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."

Honestly, I don't even know how to start reviewing this book. All I could say is that, it was such an emotional read. So,big you're one who likes books that make you feel things, then pick this one up.
I'm still yet to recover from this book. Brb.

I really enjoyed this book. I feel like its very realistic and as someone who is not a teenage boy, it gave me an insight into the life of a teenage boy and what it's like to be one. The pace is fast as the book is in a diary format with some entries being just sentences long and some being a few pages long. I enjoyed the cast of characters. The sad scenes were gut-wrenching and made me really sympathise with Charlie. I highly recommend this book, it's a quick, emotional coming-of-age read that can be enjoyed by many.

this was on of the best books i have ever read. i finished it in basically one day, and it’s amazing. every single person should ready this book (at least at some point) but especially in their teen years. this book handles with many challenging topics, but that’s what makes it so amazing, seeing these topics from charlie’s pov. please read this, you won’t regret it.

I watched the movie before reading the book and loved it, so I decided to buy the book. The book is so much better than the movie! there are so many scenes in the book that weren’t included in the movie. I highly recommend this book, although if you’re easily triggered by mental health related topics I would not recommend you read this. SMALL SPOILER
(there is also implied sexual abuse/pedophilia towards the end)

Reading this as an adult is wildly different from when I read it as a 14 year old. But I appreciate it more now, and I can see how well it was crafted as a story and the character of Charlie himself. It's actually brilliant. But geez it's fucking sad. 10/10 excellent book.
