This book will for sure have to be a reread. I didn’t make one connection until 55% of the way through, so it was a TOUGH read at first. Still, with how it all came together, I gave it 5/5.

6 🌟 I loved every almost every single second. There was a few times when Raeve annoyed me, I understand the trauma but like girl don't you wanna know the truth? Other than those few moments I loved everything, the magic, the characters, the dragons, just everything was *chefs kiss*.
**************SPOILER**************

The twist at the very end, Nee finally returning to her sender *gasp*. I had a sliver of an inkling there was a child involved from in the hut thing when Kaan said someone else was going to be affected by her return and needed her but I wasn't sure. And I certainly did not think it would be Raeve and Kaan's kid that threw me a little.

I went into this only knowing a bare minimum and I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster this took me on. A lot of words were used in world building and that really helped make the world feel immersive. The two mains are the only characters that really get any extra depth to them but there are clearly a lot of threads left open for things to flesh out the supporting characters as the series goes on.

I will say, that I figured out a certain twist well before it's revealed near the end but I liked the space it took us to get there. And that final chapter, did not see any of that coming, but I'm very interested to seeing how it plays out.

First 100 pages are rough. Too many adjectives, a little too much world building and no real connection to the characters. But once the plot hits its stride, it’s much more enticing. Read it on kindle not knowing there was a glossary so I definitely got confused at times.

Wild and insane and heart breaking. May be able to form full thoughts again at some point, may not ever be able to

Okay, is this book long? Yeah. But I've read longer, I was not deterred.

However, when your female main character reads like some of the "female characters written by men" that AtomicApplePie makes fun of, then we got a problem. I could have just read "my breasts heaved brestily". I just couldn't do it.

Will I try to pick it up again later? Probably not, honestly.

Sorry. I really wanted to like this one.
