I love Tommy and Tuppence I find their stories entertaining and fun to read and these short stories are no different to the full books.

Witty (and yes dated but it was written in 1929) and a hark back to books that romped through adventure after adventure.

A cracking read, a full 4 star book.

I love the Beresfords and I am partial to short stories too, so this book was a sure hit. My only sorrow was, that the stories seemed oddly familiar - then I realised the book had a very different title in Hungarian and I probably read it not so long ago!

One of the few Christie's books I didn't like and, in fact couldn't finish.

Tuppence is a very annoying character who thinks is the centre of the world and Tommy is just an idiot who does anything Tuppence wants... too bad

ITA-ENG

I was never a big fan of Tommy and Tuppence's adventures. They are a splendid couple, though. They tease and mock each other and I love them! The plot is made up by various little cases and at the beginning, in the middle and at the end, the main case pops up, wrapping everything nicely. I would have given it three stars but the minor cases were too easy to solve, they were almost boring.

It's very dated. In each incident, Tommy and Tuppence copy the methods and mannerisms of a famous fictional detective, and often his sidekick as well. But the book was written in 1929, and I'd never heard of most of these then-famous detectives. This really marred my enjoyment of the stories.

Tommy and Tuppence were wonderful as usual. It was kind of fun that this book was a bunch of short stories with a connecting thread.

Short stories again. Ugh.
adventurous funny lighthearted mysterious relaxing medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: N/A
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: N/A
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

The schtick where Tommy mimics famous literary detectives is charming and entertaining. These cases were all too easy to solve though (assuming that others, like me, read Christie for more challenging mysteries).
